DNS is partnered with American Heart Association and uses the AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. Our certifications are issued through AHA and are valid for 2-years.

DNS Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) uses a scenario-based approach to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that drive better patient outcomes. Our BLS course is consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC covering breathing and cardiac emergencies, IE. CPR, AED, and obstructed airways – for adult, child, and infant patients.
  • Written Competency test requires an 80% passing rate
  • Skill performance test requires a 100% passing rate

ParaMed Tech

Paramedical Examiner Certification is offered as an extension to the phlebotomy certification program. This certification is an additional, 8-hour (1-day) program of study to be completed consecutively. The skills assessment of Paramedical Examiners targets, compassionate, caring, competent individuals that are detailed orientated, self-motivated, and well-organized.

This job usually involves taking a medical history, measuring weight and height, reading the blood pressure, and collecting blood and urine samples. Many paramedical examiners work as independent contractors, which allows for a great deal of flexibility regarding when and where they work, while others maintain a more traditional schedule through employment with a paramedical company. In both cases, the minimum educational requirement for employment is a Phlebotomist Certification.

CNA

DNS Nurse Assistant (NA) Course is a 4-week program that provides entry-level nursing skills. This NA Course is approved by Georgia's Post-Secondary Education and recognized as a Certificate Program. After successful course completion, students are granted access to Georgia's State Licensure Examination (CNA).

Course Goals
  • To prepare entry-level healthcare pathway
  • To equipment students with Healthcare knowledge
  • To prepare students with basic medical caregiving skills
Program Requirements
  • Clear Criminal Background Check (Satisfactory background)
  • TB skin test within 12 months or current chest x-ray
  • Valid First Aid/CPR card (not included)
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Complete the Nurse Aid Certification (CNA) and training
  • To pass (>80% pass rate) written competency test
  • To pass the hands-on Nurse Assistant Skills at a 100% pass rate
  • To complete a 3 Day Clinical Training in a Nursing Home
  • To have the student listed on the Georgia State Registry as a Certified Nurse Assistant

EKG/ECG

Electrocardiograph (EKG or ECG) Technicians provide readings and interpretations by Electrocardiography. Electrocardiography is the method used to record and measure the electrical activity of the heart.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

EKG /ECG) Technician Course is a 3-week/50-hour program.

Phlebotomy

As an important member of the clinical laboratory team, a phlebotomist must have the required proficiency to do the job right

Phlebotomy Technician Class is a 4 weeks/40-hours program plus labs. Students work with both hands-on training on Mannequins with venipuncture and classroom instruction for Specimen Collection skills:

  • Venipuncture Equipment, Routine Venipuncture, and Venipuncture Complications
  • Dermal Puncture
  • Blood Collection in Special Populations
  • Special Collections and Procedures
  • Special Nonblood Collection Procedures
  • Dignity Nursing School, Inc. will train Phlebotomists to work in different medical settings such as:

    • Blood Banks
    • Doctors’ Offices
    • Home Health Agencies
    • Hospitals
    • Laboratories
    • Research Clinics
    • and more

    Each student will complete a minimum of 50 successful venipuncture procedures and 10 successful capillary sticks by the last day of class. The National Phlebotomy Continuing Educational (NPCE) exam is scheduled on the last day of class.

    PN
